Monitoring and Maintenance

You worked hard to get your Website up, list it with all the search engines, promote it like crazy, tweak it, and promote it some more! Now what?

Key Maintenance Tasks

  • Stay on top of search engine status and competition.

  • Create and follow an ongoing promotion calendar.

  • Verify site submissions and directory listings.

  • Set up and maintain a log of these registrations and links. It’s important to know when you submitted listings so you know when to check back, and when it’s safe to resubmit if your site doesn't appear.

  • Repeat the process once a month (more often for key search engines).

  • Monitor search engine ranking.

  • Identify new competitors or changes in existing competitors’ sites, placement, ranking, features or services.

  • Identify new opportunities for linking, listing and registering.

  • Continue participation in newsgroups, discussion lists and chat sessions.

  • Maintain integration with off-line marketing activities. Your Website has to reflect any changes within your company or product offerings.

  • Update site or add new sections for new products or services.

  • Implement new technology features.

  • Design and implement new marketing initiatives.
